The Capital city’s cognoscenti and the media – not to mention the GenNext – were in for a special treat at the Bikaner House when an art show titled Echoes from the Sand curated by ArtTree was inaugurated by Mr Uttam Pacharne – Chairman, Lalit Kala Academy and Ms. Roli Singh – Principal Resident Commissioner, Bikaner House New Delhi.

Featuring two of Rajasthan’s most admired artists, Mahaveer Swami (Bikaner Miniatures) and YugDeepak Soni (Pichwai) for the next ten days from 20th September, 2021 to 27th September, 2021.

The present initiative, like all other ArtTree’s earlier endeavours, attempts to create a space for art forms that may not be popular styles, particularly in this day and age. A certain percentage of the proceeds of the show with be given to the Charity Partner, CanKids.The unique show promises to be a destination for artistic luxury where the discerning audience will discover the most admirable pieces of art.

Mrs. Pragati Agarwal, Founder- ArtTree explained why she chose the two eminent artists for the show, “Traditional art is aimed to represent reality or realism through narrative, and encompasses the art produced from an indigenous culture, peasants or other labouring trade’s people. We, at ArtTRee, support artists who practice Indian Art – both traditional and contemporary, but our primary objective is also to nurture their talent and help them reach out a larger audience. Alongside, this exhibition, aims to inform and educate more and more people about some forms that are purely Indian and may be wiped out if we don’t make an attempt to preserve them.”

On the occasion, Chief Guest, Uttam Pacharne was extremely happy to be a part of the show, “I am delighted that such a distinguished artist like Mr Mahaveer Swami’s works are on display at the gallery. At 65, I feel he has just begun and has many more creative years ahead. I congratulate ArtTree for such a unique show organised by them. Along with Mr Swami, I am also very impressed by the works of Pichwai artist Mr YugDeepak Soni.”     

Guest of Honour Ms Roli Singh was very pleased that for “the first time an exclusive show is highlighting Rajasthan and its rich heritage. I would like to make Bikaner House an art destination soon.”
Ms Poonam Bagai, Founder- CanKids, along with Co-Founder Sonal Sharma, were all praise for the wonderful initiative that will support many kids suffering from cancer in the country. “We all know what it feels when one loses a loved one to cancer in many of our families. I truly appreciate the effort that ArtTree has attempted and thank them from the bottom of my heart.”  

The exhibition is open from 20th September till 27th September, 2021, between 1100 hrs and 1830 hrs at the Bikaner House, Pandara Road, New Delhi.
